The opportunity

Art is at the heart of every pin.

We are seeking freelance illustrators and character designers interested in bringing original ideas to life as collectible enamel pins.

This is a paid, project-based freelance opportunity. It is not currently a full-time or part-time employment position.

The fit

Who we are looking for

  • 01Strong character design and illustration skills
  • 02Experience with cute, stylized, cartoon, anime, mascot, or chibi artwork
  • 03A creative and original visual style
  • 04Interest in collectibles, merchandise, illustration, and product design
  • 05Ability to receive feedback and revise artwork
  • 06Good communication and ability to meet agreed-upon deadlines

The work

Possible project work

  • 01Original character concepts
  • 02Character poses, expressions, outfits, and accessories
  • 03Artwork for themed enamel pin collections
  • 04Revisions based on creative and manufacturing feedback
  • 05Simplified color-separated artwork suitable for enamel pin production
  • 06Layered vector or high-resolution design files when required
  • 07Color references and production-ready artwork

Experience preparing enamel pin manufacturing files is helpful, but not required. Lapel Love can guide production limitations, color separation, raised metal outlines, minimum line thickness, and other manufacturing requirements.

Open to emerging talent

Who should apply

College students, university students, art school students, recent graduates, self-taught artists, and emerging designers are encouraged to apply. Applicants must provide original artwork and must not submit copied, traced, AI-generated, or unauthorized copyrighted work.
